Gilbert MacIntyre Trail - Rockwood Conservation Area

Latitude/Longitude:  43° 36' 46" N , 80° 8' 52" W

The Rockwood Conservation area is one of the GRCA’s best in terms of diversity in geology, history, flora, and fauna. The 3.5 km Gilbert MacIntyre trail is partly linear and partly looped, and accessible from three parking lots within the park. The trail surface begins with hard packed gravel and turns into hard packed dirt later on. Part of it is also steep and rocky, and there is a boardwalk. It is multi-use, catering mostly to walking, and no mountain bikes. The park is open May through mid-October and a small admission fee applies because it also features full camping facilities, swimming and canoeing, public toilets, and a picnic pavilion with food concession.
